TL;DR: Skip to the bottom for a treat.

Can I take the first paragraph to blow your mind? I’ve got some jaw-dropping information that would lay a good foundation for the awesome picture I want to paint. Ready? Let’s go!

We all know the earth spins… but did you know that at the equator it’s spinning at about 1,000 miles per hour? (That’s 1,609km/h) Not only that, the earth revolves around the sun at 66,000 miles per hour. (If you’re a kilometer person, keep in mind that 10 miles is about 16km… so any number in miles is more in kilometers. Got it? Cool) Not only that, our sun — with us — is orbiting the Milky Way at 483,000 miles per hour. Not only that (I promise I’m not making these Need 4 Speed facts up) the entire Milky Way galaxy is moving at 1.3 million miles per hour! And ours is just one of the 100 billion or so observed galaxies, which are also moving at insane break-neck speeds. In fact, since you started reading this, we have moved about 25,000 miles across space — that’s like running around the earth once in the last minute. The only reason you don’t feel it is because our dear friend gravity is holding us down. Literally.

Told you this information would be interesting.

So here’s a question: If everything is hurtling at such deathly speeds across space, shouldn’t we be worried if nobody is in charge? But if someone is in charge — first of all, mad driving skills — that would explain how against all mathematical odds we still live and thrive on this beautiful blue rock.

The essence of this short piece is to give your heart permission to rest in the peace of knowing that despite all that is going wrong around us, God is still in control.

The Rona’s in town, but the sun rose at the right time and position today. Schools are closed, but the hearts of many families are opened. Some have died, but many more have recovered. Toilet roll ran out of stock, but look at you in your clean underwear 😅. Businesses are bleeding cash, but Jesus already bled for our sins. Churches are empty, but so is our Lord’s tomb! No matter how bad things look, God is still in control.

Maybe you’ve been hit harder than any comforting words could salve, but like the three Hebrew boys I need you to decide: Even if He doesn’t save us, we will not bow to fear! No, not to fear!

Fear is just a liar running out of breath

Now to my favourite part of this post: I have a song to share with you.

I was privileged to see how the words started to come together in the beginning. I dare say this song wrote itself as Heaven’s response to the times we are in. It’s not the kind of song you just listen to; it’s an anthem to be sung with your chest, as we join hearts and voices to lift our faith above the fear. Just as our God directs the traffic of speeding galaxies, we will continue to trust and know that HE IS IN CONTROL. This is our God.

This beautiful song was written by CYI’s La Famille.

I’ll leave you with the details of where to find the song, but first, hear the words of a woman who’s trust in God has inspired same in the hearts of many:

Sometimes we sing it because we’re sure; and sometimes we sing it until we know. But nonetheless we sing it anyway. — Steffany Gretzinger

The lyric video is available on La Famille’s YouTube channel. You can watch it here, but they would definitely appreciate a follow. Trust me, their upcoming album is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥:
